A 3D conceptual design of a handcrafted golf bag inspired by Indigenous art and landscapes of Louisiana. Combining woven cane, feather, shell details, and organic textures, it reinterprets Mississippian symbolism through contemporary design.
This bag grew from my research into Mississippian artifacts and Louisiana’s Indigenous crafts.
I wanted to create something that feels alive, not just a digital sculpture, but an object that could truly exist in the world.
Its form is inspired by ancient clay vessels, its woven textures by Chitimacha river-cane patterns, and its earthy colors by natural dyes drawn from Louisiana’s land. The leather sides stretch like a drum, they can even produce sound, recalling the rhythm and ceremony of Indigenous traditions.
Feathers, shells, and carved spirals add a sense of movement and light, connecting the sky, water, and riverlands. The handle reimagines a Mississippian bird effigy, carrying strength and vision through touch.
This work is a celebration of Mississippian culture, a symbolic storytelling object that honors the balance between craft, ritual, and everyday life.
